Inpatient Rehabilitation Focus | Established PM&R Team | Coastal California Lifestyle
Join a highly respected Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation program that has been a trusted part of the Santa Cruz community for years. This opportunity is ideal for a physiatrist who enjoys inpatient rehabilitation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a predictable schedule with strong hospital support.
Practice Highlights
- Join an established PM&R team of 3 full-time physiatrists and 1 advanced practice provider
- Primary need is inpatient rehabilitation, with a balanced mix of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities
- Work closely with orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, trauma, and other specialty services
- Manage a diverse rehabilitation population, including spinal cord injury patients
- Inpatient census is capped at 19 patients, supporting a manageable and sustainable practice environment
- Interventional pain management is handled by a dedicated physician, allowing you to focus on rehabilitation medicine
Schedule
- 36 patient-facing hours plus 4 administrative hours each week
- Monday–Friday schedule with a structured inpatient/outpatient rotation
- Two weeks of inpatient coverage followed by two weeks of outpatient clinic
- Weekend coverage rotates every fifth weekend, with weekdays off the following week to maintain work-life balance
- After-hours responsibilities are phone call only

Candidate Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
- Interest in inpatient rehabilitation and multidisciplinary care
- Comfortable managing a broad rehabilitation patient population, including spinal cord injury cases
- Open to both experienced physiatrists and graduating residents/fellows
