Job Overview
We are an established, physician-led outpatient pain management and family medicine practice serving diverse communities in Brooklyn and Staten Island. We are seeking a thoughtful and dependable Physician Assistant to join our clinical team.
This is an opportunity to practice in a supportive outpatient environment with direct physician collaboration and mentorship, an experienced administrative staff, and a predictable schedule.
Duties
- Evaluate new and established patients under practice protocols and applicable New York practice requirements
- Obtain medical histories and perform focused physical examinations
- Review imaging, laboratory results, prior treatment, and medication histories
- Develop and discuss treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising or collaborating physician
- Conduct follow-up visits and monitor treatment response
- Provide medication reconciliation and management within the clinician’s scope and practice policies
- Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, physical therapy, procedures, and follow-up care
- Coordinate care with physicians, physical therapists, imaging facilities, pharmacies, and other specialists
- Complete timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation
- Assist with clinical administrative matters, including medical-necessity documentation and payer requirements
- Schedule may involve scheduled evening and/or weekend hours (no overnights or on-call)
Qualifications
- Current New York State licensure and certification
- Current BLS certification
- DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Outpatient pain management, physical medicine and rehabilitation, orthopedics, neurology, primary care, or related experience is preferred
- New graduates will be considered and provided structured mentorship
