We are actively seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners to join our growing APP team in Waco, Texas!
You will work for McLennan County Hospitalist Services, a private, independent group of hospitalist physicians and APPs who provide medical care at Ascension Providence Hospital in Waco. The Ascension Providence Hospital campus is a 237-bed acute care hospital serving as one of Texas’s Level 4 trauma centers and annual ER patient volume of over 60,000.
A typical full-time APP schedule will consist of an average of 16 10-hour shifts per month, working a night shift from 10 pm to 8 am, with equitable sharing of weekends and holidays.

You will work alongside physicians in the same work area, and manage patients in direct collaboration with the physicians. The ideal APP candidate will have experience in a hospital setting - however we also accept new graduates and train on the job - must be flexible, have a strong work ethic, and be able to work both independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patient's medical history and current condition to determine the best course of treatment.
- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests to diagnose illnesses and injuries.
- Prescribe medications and treatments as necessary.
- Provide patient education on health promotion, disease prevention, and self-care.
- Communicate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for patients.
- Document patient care in electronic health records.
- A physician will always be practicing alongside the APP’s to provide clinical support, education and continued clinical development.
