This Ophthalmology role is designed for a physician who wants strong surgical numbers, efficient clinic support, and a clear path to partnership. Practice Overview
- You'll join a well-established, physician-owned ophthalmology group with an experienced executive director handling day-to-day operations
- Comprehensive medical and surgical ophthalmology with strong referral relationships and built-in patient demand
- High cataract volume focus; refractive surgery also available depending on your interests
- Shared call structure among five surgeons; ER coverage is weekdays during business hours with patients routed to the office (no hospital travel)
Schedule
- Typical model: 4 clinic days + 1 dedicated OR day each week
- Clinic hours generally 8:00a-5:00p; busy days can reach up to ~40 patients with strong tech support
- OR day at an eye-focused ambulatory surgery center with the ability to do ~18-20 cases/day
- Office call rotates on a 7-day schedule (includes weeknights/weekends) shared across the full-time physician team
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting salary $400,000-$450,000 plus sign-on, retention bonus, and relocation support
- 24-month partnership track with a clear route toward physician ownership
- Benefits include health insurance, malpractice coverage, disability, licensure reimbursement, and 401(k) with 3% match
- Time off: 4 weeks PTO + six paid holidays; CME: $5,000 allowance
Candidate Requirements
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Ophthalmology
- Comfort with high-volume cataract surgery strongly preferred (refractive experience welcomed)
- New graduates and experienced physicians both considered
- No visa sponsorship available
