Loma Linda University and Medical Center located in Loma Linda, California, operates some of the largest clinical programs in the United States in areas such as neonatal care and outpatient surgery and is recognized as the international leader in infant heart transplantation and proton treatments for cancer. With approximately 650 physicians on staff, the institution admits more than 35,000 inpatients and serves more than 750,000 outpatients annually. As the only tertiary-care hospital in the area, the Medical Center is the only Level 1 regional trauma center for Inland Southern California. All physicians appointed to the medical staff of the internationally-acclaimed Medical Center also serve on the Loma Linda University (LLU) faculty and teach or undertake research with the LLU School of Medicine, facilitated by Loma Linda University Health Care’s (LLUHC) Faculty Practice Plan.
