Shift: Full-time, Days, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Job Responsibilities:
In this role, you’ll be first to assist in the operating room. Participates in performance improvement, research and educational activities. This role requires call for the operating room at night and on weekends.
This position is a fully OR position, first assist in a pediatric cardiac operating room at the Heart Center at Cohen Children’s Medical Center (CCMC) in the operative management of pediatric patients undergoing heart surgery (newborns to young adults). Our program includes the full clinical spectrum of cases including neonatal surgery, mechanical circulatory support and heart transplants. This position focuses on the operating room as care in the ambulatory and CICU settings is delivered by our team of nurse practitioners.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required. Graduate of an accredited (accreditation review committee for physician assistant programs ARC-PA) program is required.
- Current license to practice as a physician assistant (PA) by the New York State department of education is required.
- Current NCCPA certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
- Current BLS certification is required.
- Master’s degree in a nurse practitioner program and national board certification in specialty area is required.
- Current license to practice as a nurse practitioner in New York State, and current license to practice as a registered professional nurse in New York State is required.
- Has a collaborative practice agreement with designated protocols filed with NYS Department of Education OR collaborative relationship attestation as per the Nurse Practitioner Modernization Act of 2015.
- Current BLS certification is required.
The salary range for this position is $121,200-$212,100/year.*
