Practice Overview
Team Size: 10 Cardiac Surgeons, 9 Physician Assistants

Annual Volume:
- 1,000–1,200 pump cases
- ~140 heart and lung transplants
Role Summary:
- Position: Physician Assistant – Cardiac Surgery
- Setting: Single location
- Responsibilities:
- Operating Room coverage
- Inpatient rounding
- Outpatient rounding
Schedule:
- Primary Schedule: 4 × 10-hour shifts (4/10)
- Shift Structure: Determined by surgeons’ practice needs
Weekend Requirement
- Frequency: 1 weekend every 9 weekends
- Hours: Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Previous experience in cardiovascular
- One year of Cardiac surgical experience
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
